Flex PCB Assembly
PCB is short form of flexible printed circuit board an Flex PCB assembly is somewhat flexible since it lacks toughness. For isolation, some FPC manufacturers will place a sheet of paper between each PNL. Verify that the isolation paper can survive the designated baking temperature before baking if the release paper does not need to be removed.
PCB board kinds range widely, and a few examples are Flip Chip, Cable Harness, Ultrasonic Soldering, and in-circuit testing. Each of these alternative assembly techniques is challenging in its own right, but they all have advantages. Our expertise in flexible PCB assembly projects is extensive.
Flex PCB Made of
Flex circuits are commonly created by layering copper on one to several polyimide (Kapton) materials. DuPont and Panasonic are well-known manufacturers of flexible materials (we typically stock both).
Flexible PCB Assembly Properties
Low Density: On flexible PCBs, there are not a lot of components that are ready for assembly and the assembly density is low.
Large Number of Panels:
Auxiliary fixtures are widely used during the assembly process.
High Requirement on Product Quality: In comparison to rigid PCB, flexible PCB requires greater standards of cleanliness, anti-static precautions, and soldering dependability.
High Assembly Cost: Compared with rigid PCB assembly, flexible PCB assembly leads to high overall cost.
Jigs are not required for routine PCB assembly, however, flexible PCBs must be fixed during SMT assembly using jigs like The Base, Pad Boards, and Steel Sheet. Flexible PCBs are easy to transport or load up due to their small weight and flexibility, thus we must fix them during the flex circuit construction process.
